"First Tournament is free for Brevard County students".

Back by popular demand! In an effort to encourage new players to participate in tournaments, Brevard County students who are unrated will not have to pay their first tournament fee (typically $20).

However, you will still need to buy a USCF membership at the USCF website. The USCF membership is good for one year.

All players must register by the Friday 7:00 PM before the tournament to play in the first round. Walk-ins will get a first round bye.

October 2018

September 2018

The Fall Fracas Chess tournament kicked off the 2018-2019 season with some very competitive games.

Newcomers and returning players had a great time at Temple Israel in Viera, competing individually and as teams. Freedom 7 was the Top School, winning Top Team in three Sections.

Big thanks go out to Kristine Stone for organizing the concession stand, and to Vincent Stone for being Assistant TD and assembling the trophies.

The next tournament (the October Brouhaha) will be back at Temple Israel on Saturday, October 20th. See you all there!

Yours in chess,
Chris Bortzner

and have fun!

Coach Chris can get you the membership for only $20/year.
