Our goal is to promote chess among school aged children in a fun and stimulating environment.  At Space Coast Scholastic Chess we promote sportsmanship, citizenship and the game of chess.  We believe that chess provides a unique opportunity for children to improve their critical thinking and problem solving skills.  Chess also enhances their intellectual maturity, self esteem and cultural enrichment.

We have 7 tournaments a season.  Our first tournament is in September at the beginning of the school year and our last tournament is in April.  Our tournaments are USCF events, hosted by local schools and churches throughout Brevard County. Students play rated games for Trophies and Team awards.

Space Coast Scholastic Chess donates chess sets and boards to scholastic clubs in Brevard County schools.  If your school club needs boards please contact us.  We also offer a reduced or free tournament entry fee on an as needed basis.  Please contact your school chess coach or the tournament director for more information.

Our tournaments wouldn't be possible without our dedicated parent volunteers who help set up the boards, check players in, collect money, keep score and a host of other much appreciated things.
